September 2020 \\ Covid Wedding Photographer
Emma and Garry contacted me long before anyone had heard of the Corona Virus to shoot their upcoming wedding and reception at the wedding venue at Sprowston Manor in Norwich. Unfortunately, as the date dawned the Corona Virus kicked in and the country was in lockdown.
As a result, the wedding date changed numerous times to coincide with government rulings, which seem to change on a weekly basis. Initially, the government had put a stop to social gatherings this then increased to groups of 6 then 15 and eventually wedding parties of 30 at the time of the re-arranged wedding.
Similarly, this was the first experience of a Lockdown wedding not only for the bridal party, hair and makeup artists and me the photographer. However, the hardest part of the day was trying to keep socially distanced in confined spaces such as the bridal suite and the room where the groom and best men dressed. Masks on challenge accepted. Furthermore, we all had to work to strict wedding checklists
Subsequently, the ceremony and reception went without a hitch with the entire congregation wearing masks and chairs equally spaced as per governmental guidelines. At the same time, a big applause to the people working at Sprowston Manor especially the wedding planner that went above and beyond to ensure everyone was safe, every need and want catered for, and all the guests enjoyed the day.
Undoubtedly, this was not the usual wedding ceremony, guests wearing masks and abiding to social distancing but to be honest it did not matter. Furthermore, the masks and distancing did not matter as the day celebrated two people that wanted to celebrate their love in front of friends and family.
